Benriach 20 Year Old 1994 (cask 5626) Peated, Madeira Cask Finish Reviews

Wonderful

Possibly the most characterful whisky I've tried. A very 'big' a powerful tasting dram, and very enjoyable. I've just ordered my third bottle.

Hits the mark

Harsher nose but smooth finish. Tastes of sultanas, perhaps marzipan or toasted almonds, and a bit of melon or papaya with light ginger. Peat is just right for early/mid-evening.

Of the Madeira casks I've had, this is likely most comparable to the Penderyn Madeira though the Penderyn leans more savoury/spicy.
