BenRiach 13 Year Old 1999 - Virgin American Oak Finish
A limited edition Benriach, distilled in 1999 and matured in ex-bourbon before enjoying some time being finished in virgin American oak casks. You don't see that happening every day, but it has imparted a floral note or two to this single malt.
This bottle was part of a private collection and may show signs of wear if of a certain vintage - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Creamy and sweet with home-made vanilla ice-cream.
Palate
Toasted oak and light floral notes from the finishing period. Vanilla carries on with burnt sugar and crisp apples.
Finish
A drying finish.
Overall
Intense and intriguing.
