A batch of fantastic peated blended malt whisky, finished in a Sherry cask. Perhaps not the most Batshit Mental of all the ideas in the range, but certainly not something you see every day!
Bonfire embers and smoky bacon crisps, with a touch of maple syrup. Notes of sponge cake, fragrant cereals and fruity coffee follow.
Earthy peat develops smoke, cinnamon and cereals, balanced by boiled sweets and chewy raisins.
Lasts for aged with barbecue char on the finish.
Wow.....what's this, lightly peated and a very intense sherry influence, just love it. Maybe not very complex, reminds me of a peated Bunna. Still wish i had bought some more because its going down rather fast, says enough:)
To me it's a lighter cask strength laga that's a bit darker color than the 16 year old. Really splendid.
This stuff is mucky as f*ck. It's definitely west-coast Islay, and the quality of the Sherry Casks makes me wonder why they didn't release it as such?
