Balvenie 1971 Compendium Bottling Note

A special whisky right here from The Balvenie. Distilled on 8 March 1971, this expression from The Balvenie Distillery was lovingly filled into a European oak Oloroso sherry butt, where it was left to mature for the following 47 years. Finally, after nearly a whopping half a century had passed, it was bottled as part of the DCS Compendium, a collection of whiskies chosen for their unusual qualities. Gloriously rich and spicy, this one.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose: Exotic spices with brown sugar and dark fruits.

Palate: Rich and deep with layers of oak and honeycomb.

Finish: Lingering dried fruits with a malty sweetness.
