Balvenie 47 Year Old 1971 (cask 2855) - The Balvenie DCS Compendium Chapter Four

A special whisky right here from The Balvenie. Distilled on 8 March 1971, this expression from The Balvenie Distillery was lovingly filled into a European oak Oloroso sherry butt, where it was left to mature for the following 47 years. Finally, after nearly a whopping half a century had passed, it was bottled as part of the DCS Compendium, a collection of whiskies chosen for their unusual qualities. Gloriously rich and spicy, this one.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose

Exotic spices with brown sugar and dark fruits.

Palate

Rich and deep with layers of oak and honeycomb.
