Unfortunately, we can't ship Balvenie 25 Year Old Triple Cask to the United States at the moment, but we've got some friends who can.
At the top of the Balvenie Triple Cask range sits the 25 Year Old. This incredible expression contains whiskies aged in traditional refill casks, first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and first-fill Oloroso Sherry butts, which have been matured for at least 25 years and allowed to marry for around six months in a marrying tun before being bottled. Astonishing stuff from the renowned Speyside distillers. This was originally released as a Travel Retail exclusive.
Nose: Honeyed malt, flamed orange peel, cinnamon, tobacco leaf, papaya and dried fruit.
Palate: Thick and spicy with vanilla custard, mixed peels, dates, thyme honey, orchard fruit and cocoa on the tail.
Finish: Sweet and spicy.

Amazing whisky
4th November 2020
Based on Balvenie quality, one might assume this would be an incredibly good whisky, but it disappoints. This whisky is remarkable only for its unremarkability. Hints of a room where Scotch has been spilled into the carpet on the nose. Alcohol and water on the pallet, followed by halva, then a dusty finish which is mercifully clipped.

Smooth and luscious whisky. One of the best Balvenie out there

Its definitely Balvenie and has a lot of wood on it which is nice, but plateaus fast into a flatline with no pulse at 40 abv. (Part of me dreads these expressions are marketing, and offloading of casks that didn't pass muster early on) Im wondering if buying a balvenie sherry cast at 47 abv which is a sherry bomb, and blending them together might make two bottles of something a little more enjoyable.

An amazing expression by one of my favorite distillers! I had the opportunity to sample this in Vienna back in 2012, and was blown away. It is sweet, spicy, fruity and smooth, all at the same time. The finish is elevated and pronounced, but not harsh in the very least.

Love the smoothness..not overwhelming...the notes to the palate is complex yet simple at the same time...truly an amazing single malt !! Bravo Balvenie !!!!

good aroma, deep and lasting finishing, nice color, reasonable price comparing macallan. really good malt. I can't understand bad rating of some taster.

Nice color, good nose , sweet and honeyed, although maybe to Spanish to be a whisky. And that's it. Deeply deceiving in the mouth, I can't identify a precise character among unraveling components, whose only remaining taste is that of burning alcohol. Definitely not worth its outrageous price, with the same money I can find almost a dozen of more rewarding bottles.
