    Balvenie 19 Year Old 1997 (cask 7951) - The Balvenie DCS Compendium Chapter Two

    The second chapter of Balvenie's extensive DCS Compendium looks at "The Influence of Oak". This bottling comes from said chapter - it was distilled in August 1997 and aged in a European Port puncheon until September 2016, when it was bottled with an outturn of only 265 bottles.

    Tasting Note by The Producer

    Nose

    Creamy toffee notes of brown sugar, hints of dried fruits and delicate spices of nutmeg and cinnamon.

    Palate

    Warm and inviting, with prunes, plums and figs. Tropical fruit juice, sweet wood spices and dried fruits.

    Finish

    Lingering with dried fruits, oak spices and sweet wine.
