This whisky has been matured for 14 years in traditional oak casks before being transferred to Caribbean rum casks to impart some extra flavour. This process has created a well-rounded and drinkable whisky with notes of fruit and vanilla.
Nose: The aroma is rich with notes of tropical fruits, namely passion fruit, and creamy toffee.
Palate: Sweet vanilla forms a creamy palate with notes of apples and mangos with a hint of orange in the background.
Finish: The finish lingers with a vanilla focussed character.
Overall: Mouth-coating and fruity with superb balance, this is an excellent new release from the chaps at Balvenie.

Solid. I love the finish and lingering spice on the tongue that makes you want more.
15th April 2017
I hated Scotch...Until I tasted this. Now, nothing compares. Yes. It is that good.
27th March 2017
A stunning mixture of flavours which never fails to ignite your tastebuds.
26th March 2017
18th March 2017
Flavor, aroma and warmth to my body and soul are quite enjoyable.
27th February 2017
I cant get on with this. Smells like Gentleman and Honey Jack Daniels weirdly. But as an addition to the collection it makes a welcome change and a good talking point regarding the Rum finish.
23rd February 2017
Quite simply my favourite drinking whisky only trumped by the 17 yr old and glenfiddich gran reserva. Both are significantly more expensive
11th February 2017
Had three mini bottles for Christmas found the Caribbean the best can't afford a full bottle have to wait for next christmas
14th January 2017
My son and soon to be daughter in law got me a bottle for Christmas. I had never had this before, but certainly was not disappointed. Very smooth. Adding this to my top favorites. The only problem is it is about gone and now I have to buy my next bottle.
6th January 2017
I am convinced that whiskey house in 22 categories either a honey flavored category or a peat flavored category. Although not my favorite Scotch this is an excellent example of the honey category, with no surprises and warm and pleasant finish.
1st January 2017
Thoroughly enjoyed this scotch! Rum cask finishing really gives this a unique flavor
25th December 2016
Very smooth with a subtle sweetness and mild bite. Will buy again
Lik doublewood i smaken men mycket tamare, nästan som att dricka vatten, smakfattig!, Doublewood alla dagar i veckan jämte denna!
15th November 2016
You need a hair of water to bring out the oils and taste but the smoothest I've had in a while.
11th November 2016
Very smooth... one of my favorites!!! Not as smokey or peating as Ardbeg or Lagavulin!! Will not disappoint even a seasoned veteran of scotch... enjoy!
8th November 2016
I love this scotch because it's exactly what it's supposed be , it should taste like scotch With a hint of rum , you can taste the rum at the finish , for the people that are disappointed don't forget you bought whiskey not rum that should have a hint of whiskey , I'm giving four stars just because it's a little bit weak
28th October 2016
A big disappointment to me...weak palate and finisch. Thankfully i only bought a sample.
27th October 2016
I am still a little new to scotch but have been very fortunate to taste some of the finer brands available. Through my job I'm able to do a favors for a couple of liquor reps and in return get bottles of basically anything I want. This is by far my most favorite so far. I got a bottle recently and it's half finished already. This 14 year is very smooth and has a great but subtle finish. For the price it really is a winner.
16th October 2016
After trying this I bought 3 more bottles! It has an outstanding mouth complexity that lingers allowing you to savor various notes. I like quality rum, and there is only a unique hint of it in this Scotch, giving it a unique and quality appeal. I proudly serve this to friends.
11th October 2016
This beauty explodes after touching your tongue and is really the giving kind. The palate is super pronounced while the finish will give you extended and wealthy vanilla to enjoy and even reminds of sugary dates.
I was skeptical about having a Rum infused scotch. I am NOT a fan of Rum. I was delighted to be proven wrong. This was a very smooth Scotch., not a peat monster. I will buy this one again.
10th October 2016
What constitutes a great malt? Good question, so why not use a rum cask to add a difference and make it a success. I dislike rum as a drink on its own but applaud Balvenie for this little beauty, Slainte!
6th October 2016
This is now on my favorite's list. Although rather pricy ($135.00 Canadian), It was worth every penny. A very delicious Scotch.
3rd October 2016
Not up to the mark. A good buy for the price, but misses the round body of rum that I was hoping for. As both a rum and scotch drinker, I would not buy again.
21st September 2016
One of my first "Upper End" purchases, and it definitely left me wanting for more. Incredibly smooth with a fantastic aroma that doesn't sting, but invites you in. I'm about to order another bottle now!
15th September 2016
Smooth! Like skating on fresh ice of a maritime pond. A wonderful experience to enjoy alone or with friends.
5th September 2016
Very smooth, complex, slightly sweet. A pleasure to drink
17th August 2016
I'm glad to hear that Balvenie made this rum cask finished 14 yr expression a permanent addition to their US lineup! This scotch is very interesting, very smooth and drinkable. There arent many distilleries finishing in rum at the moment, and for such a reasonable price. Vanillas, caramel and toffee sweet flavors. This one goes to the front row of my whiskey cabinet.
3rd August 2016
The rum casks add lovely raisney toffee notes to this whisky also hints of apples and toast. Sweet but not too sweet.
1st August 2016
One of my favorite Scotchs to serve my friends who or skeptics. In my collection at all times
17th June 2016
Never drank scotch , more of a bourbon guy, but got it for Christmas. I don't taste fruit, toffee, or any of the things they claim but I liked it enough to get another bottle when the other ran dry. this is really good.
1st May 2016
Tastes good but not up to the mark smells smoky and Peat. Smooth but very lite.
27th April 2016
Most notably the pleasant aroma which accentuates the taste makes this a fine selection. Indeed an exciting whisky and at the price point is well worth it.
24th April 2016
I have only recently started drinking scotch and never even dreamed I would enjoy it. I have tried a lot of different single malt and this one is by far my personal favorite. I like it even more than a lot of the higher priced ones. Excellent! You won't be disappointed.
20th April 2016
1st enjoyed this whilst staying at Cameron House, Loch Lomond 2 years ago and now always have a bottle in the house. Not a traditional taste but very smooth and drinkable - great value and a lovely drop!
15th April 2016
Nose is full of surprises and when you take that sip it is extremely delicious. A little water helps bring out some of the other run flavors hidden in this wonderful dram. Must say this is a very nice expression.
26th March 2016
Amazingly smooth with vanilla being a great finish. Haven't been able to beat it for the price
23rd February 2016
The Balvenie is the rock and roll of Speyside. This doesn't let you down.
21st February 2016
I love the Doublewood and I'm looking forward to trying the 12 year Single Barrel next trip to Ontario since we can't get it in Montreal. So I was looking forward to trying the Caribbean Cask 14 year old and was not disappointed. I don't get the poster who calls this "rum". This is a more delicate and subtle dram great for sipping late in the evening while watching a movie. And the finish is sweet...
Smooth and flavorful. No bite.
I really wanted to like this. I love my scotch, and I love my rum: surely the perfect combination? However I have to say that this is not a well-balanced single malt. Any hint of tropical or Demerara sweetness is overpowered by the 'tang' of rum that arises from the moment the liquid touches your tongue. 'Phleugh'!I applaud the endeavour and experimentation, but in my opinion it just hasn't paid off. Balvenie expressions continue to disappoint for me...
18th February 2016
The taste is amazing and the feel is so smooth--an adventure for the palate. Vanilla and sweet tropical. I purchased Balvenie Caribbean Cask shortly after I tasted it as a suggestion in an establishment more geared to the masculine. It's great neat or with a small cube of ice. Well worth the price.
Really good stuff
12th February 2016
what a treat! Wonderfully smooth balanced delicious. Good mouth feel.
after a few months sipping bourbon and islay malts it was a very refreshing dram. soothing the palate but complex it presents a totally different experience. good stuff!
11th February 2016
This is an excellent whisky. It is sweet with a lot of vanilla and caramel flavor like you'd expect from a good rum. It also manages to carry all the amazing complexity I have come to expect from The Balvenie. It is exactly as advertised.
3rd February 2016
Better than the DoubleWood and a bit more expensive, but worth it. Vanilla is dominant with a nice bit of spice in the finish from the rum casks. Another one of David Stewart's masterpieces. A must try. You won't regret it. Goes down so smoothly, the only problem will be making this bottle last.
23rd January 2016
At the price, it's a good compromise between the Balvenie 12 and the company's higher priced bottles in the 17 and 21-year marks. It also gives comparably priced popular Scotches — Macallan and Glenlivet — a run for the money. It's a good all rounder with exceptional cream, honey and tropical flavor.
21st January 2016
I didn't notice the overly strong rum taste reported by some of the other reviewers -- or maybe I just didn't mind it. Really nice to sip. Very smooth.
2nd January 2016
Slightly in the sweet side but also full of flavours. A good buy
30th December 2015
There is a good bit of rum flavor to this but not overpowering and I think a nice compliment. It is a bit on the sweet side and it definitely leaves a hint of the tropics, cream and a bit of coconut to my palate. Very enjoyable and exceptionally smooth. Regards from Colorado USA.
26th December 2015
Like all Balvenie scotches, this doesn't disappoint. Great for sipping. Add a small teaspoon of water, and the complexity & finish will linger on for hours.
25th December 2015
Love the double wood, bought this with high hopes but was left little let down. It's nice but it's not brilliant, and not as nice as the double wood.
24th December 2015
My neighbor surprised me with a bottle last night as an early Christmas present. It truly was worth shoveling his driveway for the surprise! The vanilla is pronounced, but my favorite is the ever so slight nutty fruit aftertaste. Finishes well, and is one of my favorite.
Great hints of vanilla; lovely sipping and a smooth aftertaste. Now one of my favorites.
Got this as an early Christmas present to myself for being such a good lad this year. What a treat! Beautiful nose of toffee and popcorn; the palate is sweet and is obviously heavily influenced by the maturing in the rum casks, but this whisky wins most points for its smooth vanilla finish which lasts for weeks. Absolute whopper. Get some into you chaps, and Merry Christmas!
19th December 2015
My cousin and I started out years on a journey to discover Scotch Whisky, at least from a Speyside perspective. We started at JW Black Label and worked our way around the region and many distilleries., up and down the price scale. We've a wee bit more to experience, but we keep coming around to The Balvenie Caribbean Cask, by far our most enjoyable yet.
18th December 2015
Yes, it's pricey and yes, it has a definite rum kick that may not sit well with scotch purists but WOW, this dram is an absolutely wonderful sipper. Super smooth with a strong vanilla punch and soft honey background. I would repurchase in a heartbeat.
16th December 2015
3rd December 2015
Is you want the best most expensive rum of your life then buy this. If not buy anything else. I love this as a rum but hate it for the price for a single malt. 20$ spreyside is way better then this. Taste like a rum with a hint of scotch. Terrible and I love their double cask
29th November 2015
I used to drink scotch switched to vodka, taste this scotch and now I'm a scotch drinker again its so good
26th November 2015
21st November 2015
I tend to drink the heavily peated Lagavulin and Laphroaig, but sometimes you are just not in the mood for peatiness and this is a really nice departure. Firstly, it is smooth as silk with a nice long finish and the vanilla adds quite a bit of interest. The rum is not overwhelming. This is definitely one to add to the collection and the pricing translates to great value.
19th November 2015
One of the very best
16th November 2015
I prefer 15 years single cask to this. Of course the price :)
13th November 2015
I have heard 2 people tell me that this stuff is really good so I went ahead and bought it. 56 bucks is not a bad price if it is really as good as they say and I'm a fan of the Doublewood. This, however, is not all that impressive. It's got too much vanilla and it is too sweet. I mean what is this supposed to be, "Captain Morgans Spiced Scotch"? Am I supposed to mix this with coke and make a scotla libre? I'll give it 2 stars because it is smooth.
12th November 2015
Great value at the price point, super roses colour. I get a touch of the old rum and raisin ice cream on the nose, similar to a hibiki, initial vanilla and passion fruit, although don't find the finish as long or as complex as some have noted. Very enjoyable and priced well.
2nd November 2015
This is a terrific whisky. Loads of rum infused sweetness up from with soft finish. Can't recommend highly enough.
31st October 2015
Pricey but good
10th September 2015
At this price point, you honestly won't find a better single malt. Orange peel, toffee and apple crumble on the nose. I drink mine watered one part whiskey to two parts water. When stretched out this way, the sweetness is the first thing that hits you. Then a loam soiled oakiness. The rum is there, to be sure, but as a back-note, not as the main event. Vanilla? Yes, some. Not being a fan of vanilla, I'm relieved to note that it doesn't dominate. Woodsmoke, damp tweed, dark chocolate, mulberry, they're all in there, somewhere. Complex, yet unfussy. A real whiskey drinkers dram.
27th July 2015
Why not buy a good bottle of rum? Why spend so much on a Scotch for hints of rum? I think Scots have lost their identity. Scotch is a Scotish drink and it shouldn't have any outsiders budding in. God Save the Queen.
15th July 2015
A lot of cask influence- I can see why they are going for this as a finish rather than doing the entire maturation in a rum cask. Lots of those lovely rich flavours you get in a rum, it's a really robust rum flavour like you might find in a good quality Jamaican rum. The whisky itself is not entirely lost, you are still getting some of that distinctive Balvenie character. Good stuff!
4th May 2015
Enjoy all Balvenie offerings. This one is excellent. I find it easy to drink and really enjoy the cream, vanilla and honey characteristics.
3rd May 2015
The rum influence is tremendous and it is a very nice dram. Try doing a comparison to a normal Balvenie and a rum with at least a decade of maturation like a nice Appleton or Mount Gay - you will immediately see the similarity!
2nd May 2015
For years now, my favorite scotch has been Lagavulin 16. I just tried this tonight with my wife, and wow, what a revelation. I have always appreciated and enjoyed other scotches and bourbons without the strong peat characteristic of Islay malts, and I'm honestly in the mood for something in that vein outside of the winter months, and this REALLY hits the spot in that regard.I'll have to see how my feelings change over the course of the bottle, but so far, this is a new favorite for me. Not supplanting the Lagavulin, but more like they are #1a and 1b rather than 1 and 2.One thing that both the wife and I noticed immediately, which is (to me) conspicuously absent from these reviews, is the warm surge of sweet honey flavors that rise up toward the end of that wonderfully lingering finish. We both tasted before reading any reviews/notes, and we both are getting STRONG honey vibes on that finish rather than the vanilla I'm seeing sprinkled throughout these reviews. So someone tell me...am I crazy, or is anyone else picking up on that?A definite treat, and this bottle will be gone far too quickly. It's too bad at how scotch prices have been rising over the past couple of years; as a PhD student, this is nowhere near "daily dram" territory for me. My first instinct though is that this is a scotch I'm excited to share with friends and family, and I'm very glad to have given this a try after being somewhat unimpressed with the Balvenie Double Wood years before.
29th April 2015
It was a bit rough but I normally don't drink whiskey this young. It was sweet, i tasted vanilla and soft honey.
28th April 2015
Sweet, smooth, wonderful! A nice finishing touch to a day. One to try without a doubt!
5th April 2015
Title says it all. This stuff is a true treasure to behold (especially at sub $70). It reminds me so much of a good American bourbon (the spicy, sweetness of it), but you get the floral and fruitiness and indeed a bit of peatiness and smokiness that can only come from scotch mixed in there. This stuff has a loooooooooooooooooooooooong long finish.
21st March 2015
Although I have tasted a moderate number of drams, I do not consider myself an expert. I find the Balvenie to be enjoyable with excellent flavor and spiciness, but I do not taste complexity. Then again, I am a huge Ardbeg fan so maybe I need to be hit over the head.
10th March 2015
Enjoyable nose and colour, yet seems lacking in depth and disinction in comparison to its cousins. The single cask 12 year old impresses me as an affordable regular evening comfort and the double wood is still a superb entry to the world of single malt.
7th March 2015
Great for the Holiday season. I liked the rum like finish it had. Smooth, yet had a real bite in the finish. Somewhat of a different batch for a Balvenie name!
31st January 2015
A delightful flavor filled experience.
29th January 2015
One of my best yet!
16th January 2015
Delicious, no doubt about it. Gorgeously rich and certainly distinct as far as I've seen in this price bracket. This said, those, who like myself, enjoy a bit more of a challenge should aim for something a bit more like an Ardbeg or a Kilchoman.
11th December 2014
Ok I could just be too inexperienced because I am still a beginner. But all I could really taste was vanilla. It is a good whisky, I could smell the fruit but I could not taste it. Any suggestions on how to focus on the various flavours?
9th December 2014
I have just started my Scotch escapades. I have had all of the Glen lines, Laphroaig 16, Tobermory 15, Macallen 18. This Balvenie 14 is the best I have had. It rates up there with "Mothers Milk" :)
8th December 2014
it is simple beautiful.
absolutely one of the best
23rd November 2014
Just thought I would try this. The 21 year old Portwood is nectar of the gods. I also enjoy the doublewood 12, HOWEVER, this one is really different, the rum flavor leaves a strange finish? Almost a funky bite that sits on my tongue. I'm really hoping the guy that let it sit for a couple of months is right because I really don't care for the taste of this batch. I will give it time to age and come back and give a rating. If I were to rate it now, I would give it 2.5 stars..... MAYBE 3? Hopefully I can change that in the near future.
20th November 2014
Simply amazing dram, so complex and also easy to drink. A must for every collection 10/10
19th November 2014
best dram there is!
17th November 2014
So very drinkable. Be patient and allow it 5-10 min to open up after pouring and you'll be rewarded. Great from the nose through the finish. This and the Glenfiddich 15 Solera are stunning.
4th November 2014
toffee toffee toffee vanilla
1st November 2014
This has become my go-to, for myself and for whenever I need a great gift.
29th September 2014
Wonderful surprise. Long finish.
21st September 2014
Looking for something soft with a little extra Balvenie sweetness? This is your dram. BEAUTIFUL.
5th September 2014
1st September 2014
Well, not quite, my favourite scotch is the 21 Portwood finish, but the price here in Canada is just ridiculous, this is a good second place at a third of the price of the 21. Smooth and flavourful; lots of ripe fruit and vanilla. Cannot wait for my 6:00 p.m. dram every day.
10th August 2014
One of the best noses for me. The rum cask is out, loud, and proud. Bottled at 43% this expression doesn't miss a beat. It gets better the longer it breathes with a bit of water. There's an underlying fruity note like dried plum or date that sits under the vanilla and burnt sugar. This is a great whisky and one that I'd recommend when you want something a little different, but at a daily dram price point.
I had been given my first taste of this from my son who bought me a bottle.WoW if my mouth could do a happy dance this would be one of those times. It was smooth and had a hint of honey sweetness to it. No one get to drink this with out me.
5th August 2014
Sorry I just did not like this *at all*. It tasted of cardboard and plaster to me. The same way Glenfiddich does, but twice as strong. I could vaguely make out the rum finish, a hint of spiciness that just brings it back to par, but that just didn't nearly overcome the problem, especially at this price. If you have tasted Glenfiddich and you know the cardboard I'm talking about, then stay away (unless you like the cardboard, then by all means dig in).
9th July 2014
I was fortunate this past week to be enjoying a wee scosch in St Louis Gamlin whiskey House. Our bartender was kind enough too give us a tasting of the Carribean Cask, WOW. Really enjoyed it long deep finish. Well worth your money. Will definently be picking up a bottle.
14th June 2014
After having tried a few balvenies I decided to give this one a go after reading decent reviews. Initially I was completely baffled, everything I'd heard about it being a smooth dram couldn't have been further from the truth, it was harsh far to for a 14 year old it tasted like a young 10. Even after a drop of water there was a taste and finish I'd never experienced it was so 'hot'?? I wondered whether it was a result of sulphering that is spoken about by whisky buffs???I'd also read about getting a 'bad' bottle and I thought perhaps after about 20 single malt purchases it was my time to get one. That was perhaps 2 months ago, I hadn't revisited it until I decided to give it another go last night. The difference was quite amazing it tasted like a different whisky it had completely mellowed and almost matured in the bottle...and I know that's not possible but I actually enjoy it now and get a completely new experience from it. It's now what I was hoping it would be.I've been drinking malts for around 2 and a half years and enjoy everything from laphroaig to balblair
20th May 2014
I love the Balvenie 12 Single Barrel, it was my first serious foray in single malt so many years ago. Finishing this whisky in rum casks is brilliant! The natural fruitiness and vanilla of the rum combines with the malt beautifully, rounding it out and finishing with a wonderful, long finish.
10th May 2014
This is just absolutely amazing. From beginners to even the hardest of Islay fans - you will not be disappointed.
27th April 2014
Not going to waste your time with a huge paragraph. Incredibly rich, sweet, honey. Smooth and full. You WILL enjoy this. Try it. :)
18th April 2014
A day will come when you will think that you have learned all the secrets. You may think that there is nothing else to be unearthed, but there will be this place that you must visit before you are complete.www.thebalvenie.com A taste of the single amber will show you the rest of the way.
15th March 2014
I really do like a variety when it comes to Scotch Whisky. From peated and smoky. To sweet and smooth. This is a top form Whisky for what it is. It's always stocked. And there has never been one person I've had taste not say "wow that is great". Good price. A bit more than their double cask. But worth it.
4th March 2014
this is one you need to roll around in your mouth to get the full palette. it's soft yet complex, smooth yet a medium to long finish. mature but still young and playful, reserved!
22nd February 2014
The notes and tastes are subtle but complex. Got this as a gift, simply one of the best. The price and quality are unparalleled. It can be appreciated by both beginners and experts. Please do NOT dilute with ice. Served neat only way to go!
15th February 2014
What a lovely surprise at our home, with friends, while sampling and pairing food and spirits. Smooth and delicious with plenty of character, this 14 year old rum touched Speyside was special. Nicely bodied. Pineapple cubes to follow, along with the chill December air, was an unexpected treat.
22nd January 2014
I recently sampled this with a friend at a private tasting event. wow!!! I was blown away. This is an amazing and ultra smooth scotch.
21st January 2014
Rich, scents of vanilla, toffee and fruit A lot of the scents translated nicely onto the palate such as toffee, vanilla, slight oak flavor. The rum cask did a nice job rounding off the whisky. ? I loved this whisky, it was actually the first of the Balvenie line I had tried at the time and it really got me hooked. The next 5 bottles I purchased were from them (and I was happy with every one by the way). The rum cask aging is a great idea as I am also a rum enthusiast and even if you’re not, the unique character of the whisky and the smooth balance is a great addition to the whisky cabinet. -BeerandWhiskeyHQ
20th January 2014
This is a very well balanced scotch for soft tasting nectar enthusiasts. It is a delicious contrast from very racy scotches I have. This one will always be in my cabinet! great scotch for summer...
19th January 2014
I loved every drop, one of if not my favorite. So much flavor in one bottle.
11th January 2014
I have been a 15 Single Barrel fan for 10 years. This 14 Cask is by far the best single malt value there is. You'll love it!!
this single malt is really well made, the balance is perfect. i always have a 14 years rhum finish in my collection.
10th January 2014
Received a bottle from a close friend as a gift. Dangerously smooth. Vanilla a woody taste blended together. I'm a single malt man, and it was a perfect gift. Excellent for it's price point (I cheated...and looked it up).
8th January 2014
I had only tasted whiskey once or twice and decided, for something fun on Christmas, to do a whiskey-tasting with friends. Both beginners and whiskey affectionados loved this. Paired exquisitely with chocolate truffles and apple filo tarts. Wonderfully fragrant, fruity, and smooth.
5th January 2014
Lovely dram. Scores 90/100 for me.
3rd January 2014
Incredibly smooth, a real treat for single malt lovers. hints of vanilla and that woody taste in the back of your throat really sets it apart from the rest.
29th December 2013
Super smooth sweet, a step up from the double woodAll balvennie malts are quality but this is special.
23rd December 2013
A real humdinger of a malt. Smooth sweet and rich.Classic Balvennie with a extra dimention.
A real step up in quality from the 12 year Doublewood (a quality malt itself). Sweet fruity smooth with an extra richness from the cask.Already emptied 3 bottles. The best Balvenie under £50.Still have 3 bottles of Founders Reserve unopened have you seen the price of it now.
love this and i am a great fan of all the double wood casks
19th December 2013
Have to agree with Mulch Monkey. Jail would be okay if you could take both with you.
6th December 2013
The rum tones come though, but the finish is less dramatic than you would hope for. Fruit tones are mild, and it feels like a malt for beginners.
Comes close to one of the best ive tasted was suprised how smooth it was and ive ordered a bottle for my xmas
20th November 2013
Since I discovered this lovely Scotch, it has moved to the top of my list as my "go to" single malt. If you like their Doublewood - YOU WILL LOVE THIS!!!
12th November 2013
If i liked another 14year old as much as I like this one, I would be in jail. This was the most enjoyable scotch, bar none, I have tasted, in my 71 years.
3rd November 2013
but.... is it worth the £10 more than Doublewood? Proabably not.
1st November 2013
Balvenie is not capable of producing anything other than fantastic product!
19th October 2013
The Balvenie always produces a good malt but the addition of the rum adds an extra layer of character that has it surpass all of their lower priced malts. Well worth a try.
7th August 2013
Nectar of the Gods!!
2nd August 2013
The best scotch for the money. If you are a bourbon fan and just love sweet over peat then this is the one for you.
19th July 2013
I forgot to rate this Whisky, but here I go.

Last week I had a Whisky tasting at home and presented 5 single malts to my friends, I included Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask, and by far this was the most popular whisky of the night. I highly recommend this Whisky if you are starting to get into single malts and have rum high on your list.
I thought Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix was the cream of the crop, but for the cost, this scotch is incredibly smooth and absolutely delicious.

I tasted many fine melds over the years, this is the most drinkable over the long haul.

This whisky is as smooth as any I've enjoyed. The hint of vanilla is a delightfully interesting variance.

My first bottle was given to me as a gift. The next 5 bottles I bought myself. In fact, I have drank nothing else since.

One of the best whisky's I have ever tasted.

The nose and taste were incredibly smooth. The rum influence is a great addition to a great whiskey. Get a bottle, you'll be happy you did.

This is about the smoothest scotch I think you can get for the value. The smell is like vanilla butter, and the taste is creamy and smooth.

This purchase would either be a triumph or a huge mistake, but having just returned from another trip to Jamaica it felt appropriate. I was not disappointed at all. Much better than I thought it could be. Very nice in the mouth with a smooth, strong vanilla finish.
