Independently bottled single malt from Balblair, distilled in 1998 and matured for 23 years in a single ex-bourbon barrel. After that long rest, a total of 170 bottles were drawn from the cask by the team at Gordon & MacPhail, and released as part of the Connoisseurs Choice collection in 2021.
Heaps of orchard fruit with crisp apples and juicy pears, a touch of honey, and herbal barley.
Powerful oak arrives, with waxed citrus and honeyed dates balancing peppery heat. A touch of toasted marshmallow keeps things sweet.
Stewed fruits, sprinkles of ginger, nutty malt and oily oak.
