Balblair 23yo 1998

Independently bottled single malt from Balblair, distilled in 1998 and matured for 23 years in a single ex-bourbon barrel. After that long rest, a total of 170 bottles were drawn from the cask by the team at Gordon & MacPhail, and released as part of the Connoisseurs Choice collection in 2021.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Heaps of orchard fruit with crisp apples and juicy pears, a touch of honey, and herbal barley.

Palate Powerful oak arrives, with waxed citrus and honeyed dates balancing peppery heat. A touch of toasted marshmallow keeps things sweet.

Finish Stewed fruits, sprinkles of ginger, nutty malt and oily oak.
