This single malt from Balblair was originally released as a Travel Retail exclusive. The whisky spent 17 years maturing, beginning in American oak bourbon casks, and finishing in first-fill Spanish oak butts for a rich, fruit-forward profile, layered with chocolate and sweet spice depth.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sweet stewed fruits, polished oak, plums, sour cherries, and hints of dried red berries.
Palate
Zingy, sweet notes of blood orange, cocoa, and apples, underpinned by bold oak and a touch of cinnamon.
Finish
Complex layers of boiled sweets, bitter dark chocolate, and old leather.
