Balblair 10 Year Old 2011 (cask 15593) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

A single cask bottling of Balblair, released by Douglas Laing for its excellent Old Particular independent bottling series. The single malt Scotch whisky was distilled in 2011 and left to aged for a decade in a refill butt cask. Ten years later, in 2022, it was bottled up at 48.4% ABV, producing 561 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Buttery at first, before hints of cakey vanilla and apple sweetness develop.

Palate

Nutmeg and caraway, followed by honey and orange peel.

Finish

Golden syrup cake, fresh ginger, and almonds.
