Distilled at Aultmore, this single malt was snapped up by the gang at indie bottler Darkness, who filled it into a custom-made oloroso sherry octave cask to finish its 10-year maturation. It boasts a sweet, peaty profile with layers of flamed citrus, stewed fruit, coastal salinity, soot, and spice.
Coastal brine and sweet, toasted spices welcome the way for flamed orange peels and robust peat smoke.
Chimney smoke and poached fruits are backed by trickles of runny caramel and vanilla tablet, with salted lemons gathering beneath.
A zesty finish, with vibrant salinity, dried citrus wheels, toasted cinnamon, and runny toffee.
