Here we've got a 13 year old single malt from the Auchroisk Distillery, aged in a single hogshead cask since 2006. After its slumber, it was bottled at cask strength by Alistair Walker for the Infrequent Flyers series with an outturn of 273 bottles.
Nose: A touch gristy, but plenty of vanilla and charred lemon in support.
Palate: Stone fruit, subtly floral malt comes to the fore, toasted rye and a hint of olive oil.
Finish: Lingering cedar and salted crackers.
