From the Auchentoshan distillery in the Scottish Lowlands comes a triple distilled single malt Scotch whisky aged entirely in first fill American oak casks. A light, bright whisky with plenty of vanilla sweetness at its centre - great as an aperitif dram.
Oranges and lemons, toffee chunks and milk chocolate. Wafts of grassy air and clotted cream.
Bounty bars, more citrus peels and peaches. A little bit buttery, with golden barley and oak spice developing on the mid palate.
Lasting notes of grapefruit and toffee pennies.

I am not a whisky drinker normally, but this is so smooth and mellow, I am a convert.
One day I like it, the next I do not. This is a very straight ahead whisky, without a lot of finese. Drink it if you like basic single malts in simple oak
Utterly waste of time. Bitter bitter sour empty harsh . Dread taking another sip just oak . Better to chew a brick . Non inviting . Avoid at all cost
OK, so for the money, I have to give this three stars. Clearly the age statement was left off for a reason, but the American Oak expression is not without is merits. OK, so there is indeed an unusual thing in the finish that is kind of green banana, grapefruit thing, but it is almost overwhelmed by the edge of youth on the palate. So as a day to day drinker, I would put it on the middle shelf, which in our home means guests can help themselves... just stay out of the top shelf.
Excellent single Malt with nice lingering finish.
