Description
This single cask, single malt Scotch whisky from Lowlands distillery, Auchentoshan, spent 10 years maturing in a single first-fill Marsala wine barrique between June 2010 and March 2021. Only 212 bottles were produced, at a punchy 56.7% and released as part of Brave New Spirits' Rebels – The Guerilla Casks Range, which selects some of the more unusual cask finishes and maturations happening in the world of whisky.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fragrant leaves, bay and pine, mingle with warm oak, honey and waxy lemon peel from the Marsala.
Palate
Soft oak and warm spices, with fragrant grapes, hazelnut, vanilla and stone fruit.
Finish
Long and lingering, with plenty of spice and oak.
