Astra Victoria 12yo

We've got a feeling this single malt Spacesider, ahem, sorry Speysider, is going to be good... it's written in the stars. Astra Victoria is a 12-year-old single malt boasting heaps of rich, fruity character. Finished in fresh oloroso sherry casks, the label features some rather unusual constellations, representing the whisky's 12 zodiac signs tasting notes. If you look up at the sky over Speyside on a clear night, squint a little (OK a lot) and perhaps you'll be lucky enough to see the constellations for yourself. Keep your eyes peeled for outlines of such treats as cinnamon sticks, tins of treacle, gingerbread men, and walnuts!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Big and bold with old oak, leather furniture, old books, leading to fruity notes of plum jam, barley sugar sweeties, and candied lemon, and a distant floral note of hibiscus.

Palate Trail mix and granola, packed with dried fruit sweetness and candied nuts before drying oak, cranberries, and blackcurrants creep in.

Finish Old, tannic, dense sherried oak wraps things up with woody spice, maple syrup, and fruit sponge.

Excellent
Interesting flavours. Mild peaty flavour. Good in the mouth with a warm swallow. Really worth getting another bottle.

This will probably sit in the back of the cupboard for a long time.
Too many tastes all competing with each other, very much OTT, a waste of Speyside in my opinion.
