Arran 23 Year Old - Explorers Series Volume 4 - Drumadoon Point
23 year old single malt from the Arran Distillery, released as part of its Explorers Series. The range celebrates the beautiful scenery across the island, with this one showing off the breathtaking cliffs and picturesque beaches (and golf course, of course) of Drumadoon Point. The whisky itself is also rather handsome indeed, having spent 23 years maturing in sherry puncheons from Jerez, eventually being bottled up at 49.5% ABV. A release of 9,000 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Freshly baked pain au raisin, mocha, crisp orchard fruit, nutty barley, and cooked apples.
Palate
Richly chocolatey, with more cooked apple developing alongside soft hints of baking spices and well-aged sherry.
Finish
Drying cocoa and cinnamon linger.
