A bold young Islay malt that wastes no time making its presence felt. Matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon barrels and bottled at a punchy 61% ABV, this second batch shows Ardnahoe’s coastal, peaty style with confidence and clarity.

So this is weird, apparently this is batch 2, the distillery website still sales batch 1 - I was confused but bought it anyway. So compared to batch 1 : there is no preserved lemon notes in there anymore, it is more balanced and cask driven I would say - it is also way sweeter than batch 1 and less peaty. Overall excellent stuff anyway from Ardnahoe.
