A wonderfully sherried Highlander here, after this Ardmore was distilled in 2011 it slumbered for just under a decade in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks! Eventually Càrn Mòr bottled it up for its Strictly Limited series, with 1,272 handsome bottles released at 47.5% ABV.
Spiced, stewed berries, along with plum skin and a suggestion of smoke.
Orange marmalade and bonfire smoke lead into homemade berry jam on toast.
Woody smoke lingers, supported by juicy raisin and baking spice.
PX are a favourite of mine and I'm a big Carn Mor fan as well but this whisky is absolutely fantastic!
