Duncan Taylor's Octave range explore the glory of the octave - these smaller sized casks allow for significantly greater surface area to volume ratio, greatly impacting the flavour profile of whisky maturing within them. This is a 7 year old Ardmore single malt, distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2017 following a 3 month finishing period in one of those aforementioned octave casks. Only 70 bottles were produced.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Toasted rye bread with juicy marmalade, peppercorn and oily oak.

Palate Toffee Crisp bars, fresh melon (and perhaps a vegetal touch of cucumber) followed by a burst of BBQ smoke.

Finish Ash, tangerine and hints of peppermint.

Nice if you can get it.
Very nice. If you have a sweet tooth, but don't want it too sweet. This does the trick. Fruity, peppery and jammy. A bit of nice oak as well.
