The Ardmore distillery was founded by the Teacher family in 1898 and its single malt continues to provide the backbone to the famous blended Scotch to this day. Here we have a 19-year-old single malt from the Highland distillery, initially matured in a refill hogshead before it was re-racked in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez cask. Rich notes of soft fruit and spice bring terrific balance to delicate waves of Highland peat smoke and toasted oak in this bottling from That Boutique-y Whisky Company.

Batch 9 is a release of 174 bottles.

That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Sweet toffee apples and dustings of cakey spice join cooked orchard fruits and dark, jammy berries.

Palate Delicate notes of raspberry coulis balance a smidge of peppercorn warmth, with toasted oak and soft, woody smoke.

Finish An elegant finish with lingering notes of prunes, and dried fruit.

Got one of these as a gift from my brother-in-law for Christmas as it's an absolute stunner. Sweet, smoky, spicy, just perfect. Love the label, too, and the stickers that came in the box. So silly. Had never heard of this company!
