Clydebuilt Shipwright Blended Malt (Ardgowan)
This blended malt Scotch whisky was created by Max McFarlane, previous lead whisky maker at Edrington (including Highland Park) and now master whisky maker at Ardgowan Distillery. The limited-edition expression combines four distinctive single malt whiskies from Highland and Speyside distilleries, wholly matured in first-fill oloroso sherry casks. It picked up a master medal in the Blended Malt - Super Premium category at the Scotch Whisky Masters 2022.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Breathe in the waves of marzipan, Ceylon tea, dried spices, and hints of tobacco.
Palate
Orange peel, rich dark notes of black cherries, and treacle.
Finish
Finishes gently, dry at first, then gliding into lingering spicy notes.
