Single Malt

A rather rare find from Ardbeg! Distilled in 1978, bottled in 1998, this single malt would make a cracking addition to an Islay whisky collection.
Please Note: The bottle's label and its box show small signs of wear and tear.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Full, slightly herbal. Notes of brine and peat smoke, espresso beans, fresh lime and cedar wood. Vanilla spice and a little toasty oak.
Beautifully balanced herbal notes. Coffee beans. Cut hay, full-bodied. Woody.
Long, becomes very spicy and oaked.

Superb nose and smooth finish. Not too overwhelming on the palate. Definitely not for beginners.
Somewhere between the nose and the palate, I journeyed to the peat fields of Campbeltown in the early 1800s throttling the nectar of Springbank. A local sheep provided deeply profound theosophical arguments and just as I achieved perfect synchronicity with the universe and an enlightened state of Kairos, all faded to the piquant finish of pungent rotting leaves smoking over a dull, dank fire, burning my soul with the aftertaste of overcooked Mutton. And the last Ferry to Islay had already departed. Oh dear.
Stick to Lord of the Isles. Much fresher & more body. lingers & leaves pleasant feelings.
