A collaboration between Annandale Distillery and James Cosmo (who you might recognise from a little-known show called Game of Thrones), Storyman is a blended Scotch whisky which includes the distillery's very own Man O’ Words single malt. It's light, fruity, gently sweet, and a little smoky – just the thing for sipping and sharing stories!
This was different to how I imagined it was going to be, and in a good way. I'm a huge fan of anything peated and I think most blends & unpeated whiskies smell and taste the same. So was expecting something underwhelming. I was so wrong. The peat is present on the nose but not overpowering. I tried this against a glass of Double oak Man o' Swords and the nose is very similar. Even my partner who doesn't drink whisky agreed. On the palette it's smooth and caramely with a hint of peat. PERFECT.
One of the best whiskies i've ever had. Blows everything else out the water. Will be a repeat customer for a long time to come!
A really well balanced and refined dram. I'd highly recommend trying this whisky! Don't let any misconceptions about blended whisky put you off!
