The barmy bunch at &Whisky managed to find a dodgy download for a 3D printable Large Hadron Collider and, after months of printing and rendering, and a couple of minor tweaks to switch from particles to whisky, hats off to them, the thing actually worked! Here we have the result of a successful collision between several expressions in the &Whisky catalogue, how many can you spot?

Nose

Raisin-studded fruitcake, syrupy flapjacks, milk chocolate, and damp embers.

Palate

Salted Scottish tablet, sherry-soaked raisins, shavings of chocolate, and subtle smoke.

Finish

Peppery spice, with lingering earthy peat.

Different strokes…

Just got one of these for Christmas and as I sipped it, I was thinking “damn, this is such interesting and complex whisky!” I thought I’d look it up and was delighted to discover it wasn’t £100 so I could buy again. But I was surprised to see the other reviews/comments. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think it’s great and is a refreshing take on what £40 whisky looks like these days

Tastes watery

The 1st & only disappointment for me from Master of Malt. Very poor, thin and watery, actually tastes as if I've poured too much water in it. Tastes cheap and certainly , to my palate, not worth more that £12.99.

Just eugh, no!

I'm a fan of seaweed aeons other bottles but this tasted weird imo. the initial taste wasn't great and the aftertaste was even worse. A little bitter and synthetic, nothing like a whisky to enjoy sipping on a cold winter night. Unforunately I can't say I enjoyed anything about this bottle.

Disappointed

This was a real disappointment. I’ve had this before and loved it. This latest bottle is all smoke and seaweed, and hardly any of the promised sweet maple syrup flavours. It’s now quite bland and lacking the range and depth of flavour that I’ve experienced before. Maybe a poor batch here, but I won’t be trying this again.
