Unpeated single malt from the Allt-á-Bhainne distillery, independently bottled at 20 years of age by Murray McDavid. This fruity whisky spent the first 18 years of its life in a bourbon hogshead, before finishing in a French wine barrique. It was bottled in the summer of 2017 and forms part of the Benchmark range, which is designed to champion cask maturation.
Thick with soft plum and blackberries at the fore, with hints of honeyed strawberry.
Sweet vanilla, toasted oats, and sumptuous berry flavours, like a rich, chewy flapjack, all rounded off with a touch of clove spice.
Creamy and smooth, with lingering sweet oak.
