Akkeshi Ritto Single Malt (bottled 2021) - 19th Solar Term 70cl Whisky

Part of Akkeshi’s 24 Sekki series, Ritto is the fifth single malt in the range, marking the 19th solar term that signals the start of winter. Distilled, matured, blended, and bottled entirely in Japan, it is made from a mix of peated and unpeated malted barley, including local Hokkaido-grown varieties. Matured for three to four years in a combination of mizunara quercus crispula, sherry, bourbon, and Burgundy red wine casks, this edition features a greater proportion of sherry cask influence, with mizunara as the key malt. Bottled at 55% ABV, it offers a rich and complex seasonal character.
