Reviews for Aberlour A'Bunadh
61% ABV, not for new drinkers!
I am having " threesome " with Abunadh 63 (61% ABV), Jack SB L7 18-7192 10.4.18 (45% ABV) and Four Roses SB RS 50-6F (50% ABV). Abunadh beats them easily. Dont get me wrong. They are all superior juice 10/10, all dark, woody, real mans drinks, its more like comparing bentley or RR, to a Merc class S, BMW or Audi. I wish I had a chance to taste those famous previous batches. To me its worth putting one aside for rainy days. Easy 92% to me.

Expensive or not?
Perfect nose. Super strong. Wow. I have never ever had a spirit so strong and yet so delightful. I am not even sure I ever had a spirit over 50%. You can drink it as it is presented. But I would say this is 45y and up. You can hold it in a long time (30 sec for masohits like me?), but then the fire comes! Hehe. Its great. What can I say. Sweet, woody, sexy. If you deluted down to 40%, I think Aberlour 12 might be there-there in quality, the point of such whisky is to enjoy the power of it in its all. I just might try mix it with aberlour 12 to 50-50, to get it to 50%, but I will just risk half a dram for that. Price? You guys destroyed the 62 batch in the comments. It maked me sick. If you dont make enough money, If you are not on your purpose, there is always Jim Beam white knock off in the supermarket for few quid!
Btw, to me this is top 5 whiskies I ever had in my life. And yes, It beats the likes of Laga 16 or Chivas 18 by a mile!

Not up to standard
Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch 63 - a bit thin. Not like any of the previous batches.
Price has almost doubled.

Nice whisky, crazy price
A'Bunadh has always been a delicious whisky for its age but nearly £80 for such young spirit is crazy - that price has more than doubled over the last 5 years.
It used to be a great example of young whisky sold at a fair price. Now it's prohibitively expensive.
A victim of popularity perhaps?
