Part of Murray McDavid's Benchmark series, this Aberlour 2009 vintage Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from Aberlour is an absolute treat. It was allowed to rest for nine years, initially in a bourbon barrel, and then finished in a first fill Oloroso sherry cask before being bottled in 2018 at 55% ABV. A limited release of only 316 bottles.
Orange peel and salted caramel, with a hint of chocolate brownie deeper within.
Dark chocolate and caramel, with continued orange freshness keeping it light.
