Brochan Oat Vodka is the UK’s first vodka distilled with Scottish oats and using pure mountain spring mineral water. It was developed using recipes found in 19th-century distiller’s journals, by the brand’s owner Colonsay Beverages, which also produces Wild Island Botanic Gin.
The oats (which were sourced from three East Lothian farms and one grower in the Hebrides, on North Uist, who produces an oat and rye mix) were mixed with wheat and a small amount of rye to create a triple-grain spirit which is then distilled five times in a mid-1800s refurbished copper pot still at Langley Distillery. It's then bottled in Glasgow at 43% ABV.
Through the creamy, oily texture comes vanilla and a little white spice.

This vodka seems to make a big deal about bring an oat vodka, however the tastes of oats is completely non existent. It is a smooth vodka, but the tastes are non descript. There seems to be no flavours present, it is a smooth but very bland vodka. At this price I feel that it should have some notes of flavour. I'd personally struggle to recommend this over Ketel One or Reyka, both of which are at least £10 cheaper.
