Top quality blano Tequila here, distilled in 2018 and made from single orchard grown agave. It was rested for three years in steel, to achieve a wonderfully smooth profile. This is rather exceptional!
Smooth texture with pungent notes of agave. Pepper, nutmeg and hints of ripe banana and pineapple cross with earthy, herbal flavour throughout.

I’m still in my infancy when it comes to tequila, but I was struck with the similarities between this Fuenteseca blanco & high ester Jamaican dark rums I’ve enjoyed in the past (such as Hampden Estate 8yo & Runaway Bay); despite the difference in origins & colour, they both have tantalising hints of banana, grassy tones and a balanced peppery sweetness that play against the heat of the alcohol when sipped. This is a tequila with plenty of depth and dimension for a rum, or whiskey, lover to enjoy
This is a VERY complex tequila, and its not pandering to drinkers who want a less challenging experience! It needs to breath and will prove a rolling road of taste profiles as you work through the bottle. Dominant early on is massive cooked agave, minerals, brine, olives, salt but its way more than that and the throat finish really is intense. This is currently #1 on Tequila MatchMaker (which features over 4000 bottles!) and for me can even start to compete with the amazing Calle 23 Criollo. Well done MM for getting this very special bottle to us!
