Calle 23 Añejo is distilled in the Los Altos region of Jalisco, using 100% agave, and spends 16 months resting in ex-bourbon barrels. The result is well-flavoured, with plenty of the vanilla sweetness from the cask coming through clearly, blending well with the vibrant personality of the agave.
Carnival-style fudge with lots of vanilla and sugar. Hints of coffee and spice.
Oak, tobacco and black coffee. With these strong flavours, you expect it to be rough and tumble, but the Calle 23 Añejo is smooth as silk.
Slightly shorter than you would imagine.
Exciting and enticing. Excellent!

Very nice piece of work, great balance of agave and the ex bourbon barrel influence just creeping in from the rear.
I've drunk calle 23 for some time and this is my favourite expression. Clean agave taste with sweeter notes and a touch of oak. Great with a single cube of ice - lovely.
This is rich and crafted tequila that you can enjoy straight. You can pay a whole lot more (with flashy bottles and marketing) and not get close to the smooth ride and complex agave tastes offered here. Do try....
It will bring you straight to Mexico: just taste it neat in a cognac glass to enjoy the aromas.
