This fine suitcase has travelled from Scotland to Timbuktu and returned with a bevy of the most interesting whiskies the world has to offer.
We have the delicate and perfumed malts of Japan right next to the hedonistic peaty monsters of Islay. There will be plenty of rich and smooth American Bourbons cozying up beside some of the finest blends that Ireland has to offer. This suitcase has an extraordinary thirst for knowledge from not just the age-old traditions of Scotch single malt production, but also from the new and quite frankly remarkable pot stills of the Swedish Spirit of Hven distillery.
He (yes I have personified the suitcase and henceforth he shall be known as Barry) is jam packed full of 365 3cl drams of whisky. That’s a different whisky every single day for an entire year. 365 days, 365 drams.
Oh, the things you will learn with this wonderful collection of whiskies. You will enjoy sherry monsters, port cask finished beauties, the unexpected delightfulness of Australian whisky and you'll be able to explore the difference between the southern highlands and the northern lowlands, but the biggest thing that Barry will teach you is the art of patience. He has not spent years collecting these Drams for you to go and invite your friends round for what we can only imagine would be one hell of a party, oh no, his drammy bounty is for carefully sipping, supping, sniffing, swilling and finally swallowing followed by some careful reflection on just what a magnificent thing whisky really is.
This is almost certainly the greatest whisky gift in the entire universe.
Barry is ready, are you?
