It's the first That Boutique-y Malt Company bottling from the White Peak Distillery, release as part of the Home Nations series! This is a malt spirit, matured for two years (so not quite old enough to be called whisky just yet) in an STR red wine cask. Despite its relatively short stay in the cask, this one has taken on a veritable wealth of flavour! The label references the distillery's location – in the picturesque Derwent Valley in Derbyshire. Bit of a Victorian theme going on there, too, aside from the helicopter. We reckon they didn't have those back then, but really, who knows?
Batch 1 is a release of 603 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose Toasted coconut and singed hay, with savoury thyme adding to the distinctive nose. A touch of green apple brightness shines through.
Palate Coffee beans and red fruits, followed by more savoury herbs and rounded malt. Slightly chocolatey too.
Finish A light waft of peat sticks around.
