What do you get when you combine rum with rhubarb? Well, rumbarb of course! It is this combination that Shelly's has employed in its newest spirit drink, marrying natural rhubarb flavours with a hint of vanilla and demerara. A delightfully fruity twist on a classic dark rum, this pairs brilliantly with a splash of ginger ale and fresh ginger as a garnish.
I've had my first tasting of this last night and I was so impressed by it, I bought a bottle. It was served with ice and a slice of orange. I tasted it like that and tasted the rhubarb that I was supposed to. I was really delighted with this. I then made it a long drink by adding lemonade that was suggested that the best was to serve with it, and once again, I could still taste and smell the rhubarb, it also made it a nice relaxing drink.
I order this Rhubarb Rum as I love Rhubarb Gin and wanted to try something different. I was so pleasantly surprised, it was beautiful and i had to have another. I paired it with ginger ale as suggested on the bottle and it was a perfect pairing. The rhubarb lingered much more than it does in gin, this was a huge thumbs up for me being a huge rhubarb lover! Would i purchase again.......Yes!
