Pensador Especial PA1 Bottling Note

The first release in Pensador's Especial series! These agave spirits (they won't be classified as mezcal, as Pensador says though the classifications help to protect the rapidly growing mezcal industry, they can sometimes exclude some important parts of mezcal culture, including the independence of small producers and the historical context of the term) are limited edition releases, highlighting different agave types and producers from the region of Miahuatlán.

Batch PA1 was made by Felipe and Ageo Cortez using a one shot distillation method on a refrescador still, made with Tepextate agave. Intensely herbaceous, savoury, and delicious stuff.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Peppercorn, coriander, lemon, earthy hints of agave, and seaweed salinity.

Pensador Especial Batch PA1 Reviews

Sensational

This one is something else! Tastes really different to my other mezcals - more herbs and citrus than earth and smoke. But it's quickly becoming my favourite. 10/10
