All the way from Israel's Milk & Honey distillery, this young single malt spirit (too young to be called a whisky) had a short stay in a refill hogshead, before being finished in a cask that previously held pomegranate wine. Definitely not something you see every day, which means it's right at home as part of our Master of Malt single cask series, with a release of 246 bottles.
Candied ginger and well sherried dried fruit lead, with rich, leathery oak, peanut brittle, and oily malt.
An eruption of peppery oak and chilli flake heat, calmed by roasted walnuts and crushed almonds. Dark chocolate studded with berries joins candied orange and a touch of vanilla fudge.
Dark chocolate coffee beans, salted pecans, prunes, and goji berries, backed up by plenty more ginger and oaken spice.

What a drink. Smooth and refined for a youngling. There are few bargain in this world of ours but this was one of them.
1 year old spirit? From that famous home of whisky Israel? What are the chances of this turning out well? We should always trust these MoM guys for they know what they nose and taste, and certainly know a winner when in the vicinity. This is quite something - deep fruity and woody nose, smooth full taste on the palate and a surprisingly long finish for one so young. There is that pomegranate very subtly there deep within, and a dark Mediterranean beauty. Wonderful.
For a one year old ‘spirit’ it easily stands up to many 12 year old whiskies out there. I took a punt and will be back for more… Reasonable complexity and lingers well
As an outrageously gesture to the pretention that age adds price and value to a whiskey, this one year old has character that 18 year olds lack. A fiery 47.8% rounded by maturation in a pomegranate cask makes this a bottle that deserves to be in everyone's cabinet to bring out and confuse their guests who think they can differentiate whisky from whiskeys! This breaks many rules but still should win accolades nevertheless.
A 1 year Israeli spirit.... doesn't sound all that impressive does it?? But this really was far better than it should be! M&H do some great whisky in their range and I can see that quality shine through this bottling from MoM.
