Killara 2 Year Old (That Boutique-y Malt Company)
It's the very first That Boutique-y Whisky Company indie bottling from Australia's Killara Distillery! Founded by Kristy Booth-Lark, the Killara Distillery has produced this 2 year old malt spirit (not quite old enough to be called whisky yet), and it offers up a wealth of ripe red fruit notes among the waves of of vanilla and barley. The label hints towards what could have been the flight path for Kristy's career - she originally wanted to be an air traffic controller!
Batch 1 is a release of 143 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Mango and papaya, with a good helping of strawberry ice cream, mellowed by vanilla-rich malt.
Palate
Waves of honey, clotted cream, raspberry jam, melted butter, fizzy oak spices.
Finish
Another scoop of ice-cream, now with a drizzle of caramel sauce.
