A dry mastiha spirit (as opposed to a liqueur) made with Chios Mastiha (resin from the island's mastic trees).
Subtly sweet but not syrupy like mastiha liqueurs. Clean, refreshing pine and cooling mint.
I usually buy a bottle of mastiha when I visit Greece (which is almost once a year). Until this year I've bought the cheaper sweeter mastiha liqueurs, but thought I'd give this dry mastiha a try for a change. It's delicious! It's got a much cleaner taste than the sweet mastiha liqueurs and isn't sticky either. You just taste the clean taste of mastic, delicious. If you don't know what mastic tastes like, it's unique, but imagine a cross between vanilla and tobacco. There is no flavour like it.
