Cold-Infused, Cold-Distilled Coffee - Sumatra, Takengon (Batshit Mental Ideas)
The different regions in Scotland all produce different styles of whisky, Greggs have different types of pasties and sandwiches in different regions [Ed - Yeah, you can't get Stotties in the south, a travesty!] and different countries produce different types of coffee. For the Batshit Mental Ideas crew of nutters, the obvious thing to do would be to make 6 Cold-Infused, Cold-Distilled Coffees with those beans!
The Typica coffee beans for this bottling come from Takengon in the Gayon Mountains, Sumatra. They were fully washed before being roasted on 5/9/12, brewed on 11/9/12 and distilled on 12/9/12. This short amount of processing time keeps all the higher acidic compounds that make fresh-roasted fresh-ground coffee taste unbelievable.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Espresso, leather, cinnamon swirls and clove.
Palate
More clove carrying through to the palate with biscuity coffee.
Finish
Strong macchiato on the finish.
Overall
Perhaps the moodiest of the Cold-Infused, Cold-Distilled Coffees with leather and espresso. Delicious.
