Description

Not for the faint-hearted, Hell Smoked Rum is a Caribbean rum aged in an Islay whisky cask with fresh scotch bonnet and bird's eye chilli, smoked chipotle and ancho chilli, and cacao nibs. The packaging describes it as a "face-melting blend of fire and smoke", as well as "like being stung in the face by a bee!", so there we go, you know what you're getting yourself into.

Not a fan

Bought this as a gift for my husband who is basically a pirate when it comes to rum! He was really not a fan and didn't enjoy the flavour at all. He's not usually the biggest fan of flavoured rums, but this one got such great reviews I thought it might appeal to his love of chilli. Swing and a miss!

Rum with a Whisky twist

I love my Rums and Whiskeys so this seemed like something I would enjoy. It has completely over delivered. The tasting notes are spot on! Smokey, Spicey and a sweet Chocolate note that balances it perfectly.

Love this

A real banger this one. Hot chilli hit, but fresh chilli taste of scotch bonnet really comes through. You can definitely taste the Whisky cask influence, which personally I love. My partner tried who is not the best with spice and was way too hot for her, so you need to like your spice or will likely burn.

Very unpleasant.

Really disappointed, thought my bro was getting my a top Rum for Christmas and got me this, I freakin love chilli, and I love chocolate even more and I love smoke even more than that ! but this is truly awful. If you like quality clean rums then avoid this. If you like white spirit from hardware store mixed with burnt coal, reaper pepper seeds shat from a death stalker scorpion and smoked mdf then this is for you, the lingering aftertaste and sore throat is even worse. 1.5 stars for kindness.

It's a banger!

I expected this to be a lot more rough and ready but it's actually very easy to drink. Total flavour bomb, well-balanced and delivers its many layers of complexity with panache. Blown away by this bad boy.
