The Trois Rivieres VSOP expression is allowed to mature for at least 5 years, resulting in a well flavoured, rich rhum agricole. This comes from the Caribbean island of Martinique. Impressively, it took home the Rum Trophy at the 2018 International Wine & Sprit Competition (IWSC).
Ground ginger, almonds and a grassy touch.
Fresh honey, more grassy notes, dry tobacco and chopped raisins.
Quite spicy on the medium length finish.

Delicious, decadent but not heavy. Gingery nose yes, then solvent, sugared almonds, sweet black tea, dried fruit (apricots?) in that order, hint of Darjeeling on the finish.
