O Reizinho 9 Month Old (That Boutique-y Rum Company)
The craft Rum Agrícola da Madeira producer O Reizinho does some of the most vibrant, delightful, and intriguing rums you'll ever try. This one was rested for nine months to create a really balanced spirit, there's still lots of character from the spirit of the new make sugarcane juice (grassy green olive and crisp white summer fruits), while the ex-Madeira fortified wine cask provides dried fruit and softens the spirit, adding weight and mouthfeel.
Batch 1 is a release of 425 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Green olive, cardamom pods, and lots of green banana, lychee, crisp white nectarine, and zesty lemon. Delicate floral notes of white rose.
Palate
Sweet syrup mouthfeel, maple syrup, and jammy victoria plum. Vanilla and raisins.
Finish
Vanilla custard gives way to gentle tannic notes of peppery dried hazelnuts.
