Plantation Barbados 2001

Plantation Barbados 2001 Bottling Note

The 2001 vintage Barbados rum is first aged in bourbon and Sherry casks for nine years, before being finished in Cognac casks for a further three years. Oodles of spice and fruit, with some rather distinctive pineapple notes coming through on the nose.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Buttery at first, with a whole load of tropical fruit notes following (think pineapple, mango and fried plantain).

Palate: Oak-y spices begin to develop on the palate - cinnamon and clove particularly. Still packed with fruit sweetness. A touch of tobacco appears later on.

Finish: Allspice, brown sugar, pineapple and butterscotch.
