Having tried several dozens of different rums this one still stands out as the best. Better than the other younger brothers. For me better than Zacapa 23....
One of the best and smooth rum I ever drink up till today
This is obviously a very good rum. It's easily in the top few percent of rums. However, among the super-premium aged rums, it is not outstanding. Compared to Zacapa, for example, it is lacking many layers of complexity and does not develop and evolve during the finish like the better rums do. At this level, it's all about the je ne sais quoi - and this rum is lacking a certain je ne sais quoi.
A really enjoyable sipping rum. Sweet, thick with no burn. Worth the money, but might be a bit sweet for some.
