New Yarmouth Jamaican Rum 1994 (bottled 2022) - Flashback (Swell de Spirits)
There's a post-apocalyptic scene on the label of this rum, where a robot appears to save a damsel in distress. Which is not as exciting as the rum inside this bottle, believe it or not. Because what Swell de Spirits have bottled up here for its Flashback range is 27-year-old single pot still Jamaican from New Yarmouth distillery that was distilled back in November 1994. It was then matured for 24 years in the tropics and 3 years on the continent before being bottled up without chill-filtration or additional colouring at a cask strength of 66.7% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Banoffee pie, coconut, old leather, clove, and dark chocolate.
Palate
Red berries, dark honey, marmalade, lime peel, Jamaican ginger cake, and rum-stained oak.
Finish
Funky and musty and full of fruit.
