Matusalem 23 Reserva

This is Matusalem's premium expression of Solera aged rum, the 23 Gran Reserva. The company was once based in Cuba, but have since moved to the Dominican Republic. They Solera age the majority of their rum to ensure their characteristic flavour remains the same from bottle to bottle. Which is good, because it's rather tasty indeed.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Fresh honey and golden syrup. Crunchy almonds. Cedar wood.

Palate Creamy and rich, with plenty of fruit joining the sweet, sugary notes.

Finish Spiced and lasting on the finish.

Overall One to savour and enjoy neat.

Simply the best rum in the world. Bar none.
This is quite simply the best rum I have ever tasted. I discovered it as part of a dram sample and have spent many years, still searching for another to come close. It is the smoothest, most flavoursome rum I have experienced. Cheap at the price when you consider it is better than bottles triple the price and more.

Not bad
This is not a bad rum, a bit pricey maybe but still good. Nice fat bottle and a tasty rum, full of sugar and a sweet spicyness. Creamy mouthfeel. Im gettin raisons and a bit of nut on the nice but short finish. If I found it cheap again i might renew my bottle, but at this price point i would go for some other rums. Perhaps a vintage rum instead. CM
