(50cl, 43%)

Ron Los Valientes 20 Year Old

Ron Los Valientes 20 YO Bottling Note

Named for the heroes of the Mexican revolution, with 'Los Valientes' meaning 'the valiant' or 'the brave', this is the oldest release in the series at 20 years old. The rum itself is unusually made up of both double pot-distilled sugar cane juice (rhum agricole) and column still molasses rum, in a ratio of 7:3.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Molasses and treacle, rancio, cocoa and toasted oak.

Palate: Real earthy, nuttiness with marzipan and dark chocolate. Dark exotic spices.

Finish: Mocha, macadamia, caraway.

Overall: Fantastic aged Mexican rum ¡Viva la Revolución!

Reviews for Ron Los Valientes 20 Year Old
Caramel spice with an edge
It starts off quite harsh, but still fruity. Mellows into smooth caramel with subtle spice, but still retains a bit of an edge. It's rich and indulgent, bit of a chocolate quality to it. Pretty good

wonderful Rum, Ay Carumba
A 20 year old Rum at this price is crazy good. It is Mexican Rum, and I can taste Tequila in it, I don't know if that is my mind or my taste buds, but I can taste a smokey Tequila flavour to this beautiful rum.

This being "20 year" aged has a wonderful depth of flavour that you associate with Rums of that age and twice the price. Definitely not overly sweet, in fact a real "honest" taste, unlike some of the big names that are adulterated with sugar and flavourings. A very pleasant surprise for me and I would definitely buy this again.
