J. Bally Millésime 2002

A 2002 vintage rhum agricole from J. Bally, produced on the island of Martinique in the Caribbean.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Green apple with a whiff of dusty oak in support. Soon enough, you're greeted by creamy vanilla and dried peels.

Palate Dark chocolate and caramel give it a richness, while spicy cedar and clove add warmth.

Finish A final touch of dried fruit and enjoyably acidic apple.

Reviews for J. Bally Millésime 2002 Rhum Vieux
Memorable
I first tasted this rum when serving in the RN and visiting Fort de France, Martinique in 1954. The French Navy suggested the 1939 Bailly and I bought four bottles of which one survives with a tiny bit of tasteless liquid in the bottom. This 2020 is now older than the 1939 when I bought it and must be one of the best “Cognac rums” available. Please leave some for me to buy when my present ‘for me only’ bottle dies.
