Wonderful, and far too young, and.....
Syrupy ,dark, liquorice-y, glue.
Followed by esters and traditional Jamaican pot still fiery madness.
It's hot. Really, Far too young IMJ, but it's its tasty, and, I reckon, much more interesting than the 8yo.
Dark, woody, comex, Jamaican mild funk. It's lovely, and captivating, and a great advery for PX sherry casks.
If you love Hampden and/or Jamaican, buy it, but IMJ it's laughably overpriced. It is what is is.....

Funky Hampden with date like sherry sweetness balanced wonderfully
This has morphed since I first opened it. Initially, it was all dates and PX sherry sweetness, but now it's softer and more balanced.
Underneath, it tastes like HLCF, and it still feels like a few more years in cask wouldn't go a miss, but overall it blens the esters and funk with enough cask and sherry layers to make a wonderful rum.
It's pungent, and astringent, and yet sweet underneath, yet it's also wall to wall Hampden. Wonderful.
